Mindgrit is a certified service provider of the world-known Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment in Norway.
Do you recover enough during night and day?
Do you recover during the sleep? How about during breaks middle of the day? Approximately 50 % of the working population does not recover enough in everyday life, sleep included! Chronic stress, sleep deprivation and physical inactivity are risk factors for almost every known physical and mental disorder or illness. Today's choices become tomorrow's reality - so know how your nervous system is doing and become aware if actions for improvement are needed!
Do you know what works for you?
Do you know which activities and habits in your life contribute to calming down the nervous system and to sleeping better? It is very important to be able to sense what is happening in the body, but heart rate variability measurement is an effective way to see it with your own eyes, through data. The measurement helps to connect the dots: how your nervous system responds to daily activities and environmental factors and what works for you.
Build resilience with awareness
Building resilience, balanced life and long-term health start with awareness of the current situation. Usually the next step is to learn how to down-regulate: recover more, sleep better and increase calming activities to the days. When the base has been set, it is possible to reach to your full potential, strength and high performance. Forget the guesswork, know what works for you and start building a balanced lifestyle one change at a time!

Customer Stories
My three-day Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment was completed just before Christmas 2020. As a woman approaching her forties, I wanted to get an evaluation of my wellbeing, so I could spend 2021 in improving where possible, and move to the next decade of my life with a more peaceful mind. The equipment arrived three days after ordering and was easier to use than I expected – two sticker electrodes to the skin, the measurement device attached to them with snap fasteners, and that’s it! Keeping an accurate diary of my days for the analysis took a few moments each day, but was worth it when looking at the results.
The results confirmed what I suspected: My on-off yoga practise and time spent on thinking how to organize my work days showed as an ability to relax and recover both during the day and at night, which was delightful. However, I had quite poor recovery quality, suggesting that there had been some long term stress in my past… How did they know! This also explained why I have a mixed feeling about my wellbeing: relaxed on the surface, but somehow still tired in the background. The intensive periods of stress during the completion of my PhD still seems to show in my physiology.
We went through the results with my coach Sanni, and I got very good tips on where to go forward. As my fitness level was low for my age – not surprising after a couch-potato autumn - I started doing daily walks. I also tried some sleep-improvement methods Sanni suggested, and yoga practise is also reinstalled in my week schedule. Now, only two weeks after getting the results, I feel better already. This assessment was an excellent motivator to change some routines for the better, and I am hoping that the changes show in the re-assessment I promised myself as a 40th birthday present. Overall, I can warmly recommend Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment to anyone interested in their health and wellbeing.

The assessment was informative and gave me actual data and insights to my days and more importantly practical advice on what already works and what to improve. As a result of the assessment, I got a thorough report of my 3 test days focusing on my stress & recovery levels as well as the quality of my sleep. The coaching session after the measurement was well prepared and enjoyable. It was timed flexibly to my schedule and I got useful, practical tips and adjustments.
Based on the assessment I noticed how easily the sleep is affected by working late in the evening but also, how peaceful, recovering moments can take place during the work days and support vitality.
I believe the assessment can work as a wakeup call to show actual stress/recovery levels and data about one’s sleep. I believe it works as a good basis to do practical changes in everyday life. It’s easier to trust actual data and insight from measurements than gut feeling. Combined with coaching services Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment is a great package to improve everyday recovery and lifestyle.
As a manager in a leadership position, it is important for me to maintain a good work/life balance, not just say it, but actually live it. With the assessment, I can see how my days affect my sleep and what I can do during the day to keep a good balance throughout the week. With a healthy balance, I’m able to help and lead my team to my best ability.

The equipment and software for reporting were super simple to use and the analytics I received afterwards was interesting and comprehensive. As being pregnant, and knowing that another person is dependent on my good health, it was especially motivating to learn when I'm able to recover during the day/night and get some tips on how that could be achieved. This insight will also help me avoid ending up with a sick-leave from work before it's time for my maternity leave.
I learned a lot about which activities during the day that influenced my recovery and was happy to learn that only small adjustments could also be of great effect - both for my personal life and for my capacity at work.
